Steel imports: ‘melt and pour’ requirement applies from 1 October. Is your documentation in order?
From 1 October 2026, importers of many steel products must prove in which country the steel was melted and poured (‘melt and pour’). This is done with a Mill Test Certificate stating that country and the heat number. Until 30 September 2027, alternative documents are also accepted in certain cases.
