Steel imports: ‘melt and pour’ requirement applies from 1 October. Is your documentation in order?
From 1 October 2026, importers of many steel products must prove in which country the steel was melted and poured (‘melt and pour’). This is done with a Mill Test Certificate stating that country and the heat number. Until 30 September 2027, alternative documents are also accepted in certain cases. Without valid evidence, the shipment will not be cleared through customs. Please check with your suppliers…
