How do I calculate a pallet space

You calculate a pallet location by multiplying the length and the width. When you then divide this by 9600, you arrive at the number of pallet places.

There is, however, an exception regarding the calculation of pallet locations. When goods are wider than 1.2 metres, pallets cannot be placed next to each other, side by side. The maximum width of a trailer is 2.4 metres.

A euro pallet measuring 120cm x 80cm on the base is equal to 0.4 LDM or 1 pallet space.

A standard pallet measuring 120cm x 100cm on the base is equal to 0.5 LDM or 1.25 pallet spaces

The length of these trailers is 13.6 metres. This offers the maximum space for 33 Euro pallets. You should assume a maximum cargo height (including the pallet) of between 2.6 metres and 2.8 metres however in some vehicles it’s possible to carry cargo up to 3 metres tall.

In total, this vehicle combination offers space for approximately 38 euro pallets. The maximum height of the pallets may be up to 3 metres.

You can transport a maximum of 51 euro pallets with an LZV combination with a maximum cargo height (including the pallet) of between 2.6 metres and 2.8 metres however in some vehicles it’s possible to carry cargo up to 3 metres tall.
