How can I best protect my cargo from damage in transit?

Family business since 1970
Own customs department
English speaking truck drivers
Multiple local branches

Heebink is committed to ensuring your consignment arrives in perfect condition, but how can you ensure it arrives in the same condition as when it left? It is best to transport your products on a pallet.

This has 2 advantages:

  • Carrier can easily move / transport it
  • Goods are not damaged

You should also consider the use of:

  • Wooden boxes
  • Boxes
  • Bubble wrap
  • Protection foil

Are the goods being transported insured fully in case of loss and/or damage?

All goods are carried under CMR conditions of carriage and the limitations contained therein. This means that our maximum liability is 8.33 SDR (Special Drawing Rights) per Kilogram which is best thought of as a currency in its own right.

The exact conversion rate is set daily and can be found at www.imf.org or at http://coinmill.com/EUR_SDR.html#SDR=8.33.

Goods can be insured for 100%, but then there will be an extra surcharge on the freight costs. This surcharge also depends on the value of the goods.
